Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s sweetest seasons, and it was such an honor to photograph beautiful little Zelie during her newborn portrait session at my studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At three weeks old, Zelie was an absolute dream to photograph. Her session was styled with a soft and timeless palette of neutrals, delicate light pinks, and a subtle touch of sage green, creating a look that perfectly complemented her tiny features.
Zelie slept peacefully through nearly the entire session, allowing us to move through every pose and setup I had planned—and even a few extras. Those calm, sleepy moments always make for the most timeless newborn portraits.
Some of my favorite images from the session were the portraits with Zelie and her parents. The way they looked at her made it clear they are completely smitten. Capturing her snuggled safely in their arms really highlights just how tiny and new she still is.
I’m especially excited because Zelie has joined my JOY Plan, which means I’ll get to photograph her again as she grows throughout her first year. I can’t wait to see how much she changes by her next session!
