Birdie’s mama was kind enough to volunteer her little one to help me with some behind-the-scenes video content I was working on and she brought me the sweetest little doll I could have asked for. Because you guys know I love color and florals, I designed some setups with that in mind. To balance the colorful sets, we also created classic newborn portraits using a soft neutral blanket and a cozy white sleeper. These simple, timeless images keep the focus right where it belongs—on beautiful baby Birdie.
We started with a sweet pink and purple floral setup where sweet Birdie stayed swaddled and cozy.

We also did a few simple setups with her swaddled snuggly in a pink swaddle with a tiny bow headband.

The next setup we did was one of my favorites – incorporating blues and aquas on a cozy little bed accented with sweet light blue flowers.

And for a bit of a more neutral feel, we put sweet Birdie in the most adorable footless knit white romper with little pom details. It fit her just perfectly and looked so cozy!

One of my favorite moments from the session was capturing the special bond between Birdie and her mom. We incorporated the same luxurious blue satin tossing fabric I often use during my maternity sessions, giving their Mommy & Me portraits an glamorous, editorial feel. The flowing fabric added movement and created stunning heirloom images that celebrate both motherhood and the incredible connection between mother and daughter.

Here is a sweet composite of some of my other favorites from this sweet girl’s newborn session. If you’re looking for a Baton Rouge newborn photographer who creates both artistic, colorful portraits and timeless family heirlooms, I’d love to help you document your baby’s first days.
