Some newborn sessions feel especially meaningful from the moment a family walks through the studio doors. Presleigh’s session was one of those. At just 2½ months old, this beautiful baby girl had already been through more than most of us could ever imagine. She entered the world very prematurely, weighing less than three pounds, and spent countless weeks in the NICU. After all of those long days and nights, so many unknowns, and the overwhelming experience of watching their tiny baby grow stronger, her family finally had the opportunity to slow down and simply celebrate her.

And what a little fighter she is.

Presleigh still needed a little extra support during her session, including her oxygen tube, which was secured with the sweetest little heart-shaped sticker. Rather than allowing that detail to take away from her portraits, it became a small reminder of just how far she had already come.

Her newborn session wasn’t simply about beautiful photographs. It was about documenting a milestone her family had worked so hard to reach—the chance to bring their baby girl into the studio, surround her with pretty things, and simply enjoy being together.

As a Baton Rouge newborn photographer, these are the sessions I never take for granted. Every baby has a story, and some stories remind us just how incredibly precious these early days truly are.

Every tiny detail of her session was designed to celebrate her femininity and sweetness. We chose a palette of rosy pinks, warm neutrals, ivory, and soft greens, layering in delicate florals, feminine headbands, cozy knits, and timeless textures. I love that even at 2 1/2 months old, she still fit into this tiny wooden bed. (And judging by her little smile, I think she really liked it.)

The way she just snuggled up so perfectly in this little basket… 🙂 And I love the little side profile angle showing the sweet heart-shaped sticker that her mama put on her for her session.

We kept Presleigh swaddled for her session but I couldn’t resist getting those cute little feet out for a couple at the end of the session. And just look at her sweet little puckered lips. 🙂

There is something incredibly special about photographing a baby who has already fought so hard to be here. Her tiny fingers. Her little toes. Her sweet cheeks. The delicate pink bow. The floral headbands. And that precious little face that her family waited so long to see outside of the NICU.

These are the details that become treasured memories.
